Almarai Signs a Memorandum of Understanding with "Tarahum" for the Care of the Families of Prisoners and Released Persons in Jeddah

Almarai company signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Committee for the Care of Prisoners and their Families, "Tarahum". This strategic partnership is designed to foster collaboration and achieve shared objectives in social development, specifically to support, care for, and empower the families of prisoners and released persons. This initiative is a testament to Almarai’s ongoing commitment to its social responsibility strategy and its dedication to delivering high-quality food products that contribute to improving the lives of families in need and enhancing the spirit of community solidarity.

The MoU was signed in the presence of representatives from both organizations, with Mr. Faisal bin Marzouq Al-Fahadi, Executive Vice President of Corporate Communication and Institutional Affairs at Almarai, signing the agreement alongside Mr. Waleed bin Khader Al-Ahmadi, Executive Director of "Tarahum" – Jeddah. The partnership is focused on providing essential support to the families of prisoners and released persons in Jeddah by distributing top-quality food products that meet the highest standards of food safety.
Mr. Faisal bin Marzouq Al-Fahadi expressed his pride in Almarai's role in such crucial national initiatives, emphasizing that, “The partnership with Tarahum reflects our unwavering commitment to society and our dedication to always delivering the best of our products with quality you can trust.”

Mr. Waleed bin Khader Al-Ahmadi also highlighted the significance of this collaboration, which will directly benefit the families of prisoners and released persons, stating: “Tarahum will work closely with Almarai to ensure that food support is delivered promptly, thereby enhancing the impact of this social initiative on the ground.”

This initiative is part of Almarai’s extensive efforts in corporate social responsibility. 

The Company reported a 23% increase in its total CSR spending in 2023 compared to the previous year, and allocated SAR 50 million to various CSR projects. Furthermore, Almarai supported approximately 400 organizations through donations and sponsorships, as well as donating over 1,000,000 products throughout the year, reaffirming its position as a committed leader in advancing social development and sustainability.
