Almarai successfully concluded the Almarai Chefs program, launched in collaboration with the Social Development Bank (SDB) through the Dulani Business Center. The initiative was designed to promote entrepreneurship within the micro-enterprises industry to bolster home-based businesses in the culinary sector, enhancing their contribution to the Kingdom’s economic growth.
The five-month program engaged 43 participants, supported by 12 expert speakers and 14 specialized consultants. As part of Almarai’s commitment to social responsibility and entrepreneurial support, the initiative aligns closely with Saudi Vision 2030’s objectives.
On this occasion, Almarai hosted a special event attended by Mr. Abdullah bin Nasser Albader, CEO of Almarai, along with the company’s vice presidents. Also present were Eng. Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al-Hamidi, CEO of SDB, along with his deputies, the head of Dulani Business Center and its management team, program advisors, Almarai and Dulani teams, participating chefs’ families, and a select group of media representatives and influencers.
During his speech at the event, Mr. Abdullah Albader expressed his delight at the program’s successful conclusion, emphasizing Almarai’s commitment to elevating the culinary sector and supporting ambitious Saudi talents. He highlighted the company’s dedication to fostering a nurturing environment that enhances participants’ skills and enables them to develop their businesses. He also commended the strategic partnership with the Social Development Bank, recognizing its role in launching initiatives that generate lasting benefits for society and empower emerging entrepreneurs in this vital sector.
Commenting on the program’s impact, Eng. Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al-Hamidi, CEO of the Social Development Bank, stated: “The Almarai Chefs program embodies an effective public-private partnership, providing an integrated ecosystem to equip home-based businesses with the skills to develop and manage pioneering ventures. It aligns with the bank’s efforts to bridge the gap to entrepreneurship by offering innovative financial solutions and comprehensive enablement services—ultimately fostering sustainable businesses and contributing to a dynamic, diversified economy.”
He further added, “The bank takes pride in extending over SAR 2.8 billion in financing during 2024, supporting more than 76,000 home-based businesses and freelance professionals across the Kingdom. Beyond financial assistance, we emphasize non-financial support, including training and advisory services, to enhance the capabilities of home-based entrepreneurs and enable them to achieve financial independence and integrate effectively into the labor market.”
Throughout the program, more than 215 specialized consultations were provided to participants, helping them refine their technical and business management skills. To enhance their competitiveness in the local market, participants were equipped with essential tools and products, alongside guidance in developing and refining their brand identities, ensuring their projects' sustainability and long-term growth.
The initiative aimed to empower participants to expand their businesses, scale their production, and effectively meet market demands. Continuous support was provided through training sessions designed to enhance both fundamental and advanced skills, enabling home-based businesses to improve their operations and achieve success in the culinary sector.
The closing event featured a showcase of short films highlighting Almarai’s journey and the evolution of participants' brand identities. The event also included an awards ceremony recognizing the best video content, a special tribute to the program’s youngest participant under the "Youngest Chef" category, and a grand tasting tour of the participants’ culinary creations, all in a celebratory atmosphere.
