Here's a quick and easy way to make a delicious traditional Date Maamoul.

Ingredients

160g Almarai Ghee


 

50g Almarai butter


 

250g Fine Semolina


 

250g Semolina


 

5g Mahlab (Cherry Seeds)


 

65ml Rose Water


 

65ml Orange Blossom Water


 

5g Yeast
 

 

65g Sugar Powder
 

 

750g Date Paste
 

 

5g Almarai Milk Powder


 

30ml Water
 

Instructions

First, prepare the Maamoul dough:
 

  1.  In a bowl, mix the semolina and fine semolina with powdered sugar, salt and Almarai butter, add Almarai ghee with rose water and mix until the ingredients mix, and we have a cohesive dough.
     
  2.  Then cover the bowl and leave the semolina mixture aside for about two hours. Then preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. 

    Second, prepare the filling:
     
  3.  Mix well the dates, pasture butter with rose water, and orange blossom water in a bowl, and take a portion of the Maamoul dough and place it at the bottom of the tray.
     
  4.  Gently spread the date filling over the dough until it is completely covered.
     
  5.  Cover the date filling with the remaining amount of the Maamoul dough.
     
  6.  Then cut the Maamoul with a wet knife into squares.
     
  7.  Put the Maamoul tray into the oven for 15 minutes, until the top is golden. Bon Appetit!
