Creamy Lentil Soup

This creamy lentil soup is the perfect combination of warmth, flavour, and nourishment, making it an ideal choice for cold winter days

Ingredients

1 cup yellow lentils

1 small onion, chopped

2 cloves garlic, crushed

2 tablespoons Almarai butter

½ cup Almarai cooking cream

3 cups chicken broth

1 teaspoon ground cumin

½ teaspoon turmeric (optional)

Salt and pepper to taste

Chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions
  1. Melt Almarai butter in a large pot over medium heat. Add onion and garlic. Stir until the onion is wilted and translucent.
     
  2. Wash lentils well, then add to pot with chicken broth. Let the mixture boil for 20 minutes until the lentils are fully cooked.
     
  3. Using a hand blender, puree the soup until smooth. Return the pot to the heat, then add Almarai Cooking Cream.
     
  4. Add cumin, turmeric, salt, and pepper, and stir well. Let the soup simmer on low heat for 10 minutes until the flavours blend and it becomes creamy.
     
  5. Serve the soup hot and garnish with chopped parsley and a spoonful of Almarai Cooking Cream on top of the soup to enhance the texture and flavour.
