Basbousa with Cream Recipe

Basbousa with Cream is a traditional Arabic dessert characterized by its rich flavor, soft texture, and moistness. It is an excellent choice for serving during the month of Ramadan

Ingredients

1/4 cup Almarai milk 

 

1 cup Almarai cream 

 

1/2 cup melted Almarai butter 

 

2 cups semolina 

 

1 cup sugar 

 

1 teaspoon baking powder Almonds or pistachios for garnish 

 

For the Syrup: 

 

2 cups water 

 

2 cups sugar 

 

Juice of half a lemon

Instructions
  1.  Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a baking dish with butter.
     
  2.  In a large mixing bowl, combine semolina, sugar, melted Almarai butter, Almarai cream, and Almarai milk.
     
  3.  Mix well until you get a homogeneous mixture.
     
  4.  Then, add the baking powder and stir until evenly distributed.
     
  5.  Pour the mixture into the buttered baking dish and spread it evenly using a flat spoon.
     
  6.  Place almonds or pistachios on top for additional flavor.
     
  7.  Bake in a preheated oven for approximately 30 minutes or until the top turns golden brown. 
     
  8.  While baking the Basbousa, prepare the syrup. In a saucepan, mix sugar, water, and lemon juice.
     
  9.  Let it boil for about 10 minutes.
     
  10.  Then, let the syrup cool.
     
  11.  While the basbousa is still hot, pour the syrup evenly over it.
     
  12.  Decorate it with toasted almonds.
     
  13.  Allow the basbousa to cool and absorb the syrup.
     
  14.  Enjoy the delicious and flavorful basbousa during your time in Ramadan!
